New York LLC cost: filing fees and the publication requirement

Updated 17 Oct 2026 · LLCTally

Facts checked on

Filing yourself, a New York LLC costs at least 259 dollars in state fees over its first three years. “At least”, because New York requires a notice in two newspapers, and their price is not on the state’s page.

The state fees

Over three years

The first Biennial Statement falls two years after formation, so in 36 months it falls once: 200 + 50 + 9 = 259 dollars, plus the newspapers.

The calculator for New York adds the prices of the formation services we could read. States with similar requirements are in annual reports and state taxes by state.

This page reports the fees the state publishes. It is not legal or tax advice.
